What we do?

Catholic Formation

Convinced that authentic fidelity to the doctrine of Christ is the only way to be effective apostles and to be immunized against contemporary errors, we offer our members a deep Catholic formation, through courses, conferences and symposiums, providing them with the necessary tools to defend the Catholic faith. Catholic professionals, university professors, priests and writers train our members and give lectures on basic and even topical topics, such as Catholic leadership, the existence of God, the immortality of the soul, science and faith, the history of the Church , bioethics, commitment and the value of family, courtship and much more.

Usually the Formation Days are days of intense intellectual and cultural activity, but also of great joy, friendship, and above all contact with Our Lord through the sacraments and prayer.

Spirituality

  1. Life of prayer: the whole Christian life finds its foundation in prayer, which is our relationship of friendship with Jesus Christ. Without prayer we cannot know God’s will nor obtain the strength to fulfill it. This is why at The Voices of the Word we always stress the importance of prayer in all our activities, emphasizing the recitation of the breviary, Eucharistic adoration, confessions and in particular the Celebration of the Holy Mass. To proclaim Jesus Christ it is necessary to be imbued with Him through prayer.
  2. Spiritual Exercises: The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola are an ordered sequence of meditations and contemplations whose aim is to help in the discernment of God’s will. These are days of silent retreat in which one meditates and reflects on God, man and the determination to be saints, under the guidance of a priest or religious. Convinced of the importance that these Exercises have had and still have in the life of the saints, we offer them to all the members of Voices of the Word as a sure tool for their own sanctification.
  3. Marian Consecration: As part of the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word, we too are “essentially Marian”. And to express our love and gratitude to the Blessed Mother and at the same time to obtain her indispensable help for our proper end, we seek to consecrate ourselves to her in maternal slavery of love according to the teachings of St. Louis Marie de Montfort. Totus tuus, Mary!

Apostleship

Today more than ever, we have the urgency to preach Jesus Christ and to evangelize culture, impregnating all that is authentically human with the message of Our Lord, so that He may reign. The Voices of the Word are committed to working on this task, ensuring that its members are apostles of Christ in all places and at all times, in their daily activities and in the world in which they live.

To be salt of the earth and light of the world, be it at work, at university or in one’s own family.

Faced with the “culture of death” that promotes abortion, euthanasia, and other types of ideologies, we promote an authentic “culture of life” that defends unborn children and supports the natural family. We participate in pro-life marches and seek to found the “civilization of love.”
Through courses and congresses, we prepare ourselves to function correctly in the apologetic field, giving solid reasons for our faith and our hope. We publish articles and organize meetings to better understand the fundamentals of Catholicism.

Weighing the importance and effectiveness of these New Areopagus, we make use of these means of communication to be able to spread the Gospel especially among young people. We produce apologetic videos, as well as online courses, etc.

The poor and those who suffer represent in a more particular way the Son of God, who was poor and suffered on the Cross. That is why we give preference to volunteer work, making ourselves available to those most in need, visiting hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages, etc.

We also organize popular missions to strengthen the faith of the baptized and lead others to Christ. Home visits, games with children, catechism and administration of the sacraments are some of the activities carried out in a popular mission.

Eutrapelia

A distinctive note of the young people of “Voces Verbi”. Joy that springs from the virtuous life, since both always go hand in hand. As every authentically human manifestation must be transformed with the power of the Gospel, just as Christ wanted to assume all human nature, excepting only sin, that is why we encourage sports and recreational activities that allow us to have a healthy soul in a healthy body and give us an environment of healthy and holy fun, which is the virtue known as “eutrapelia”.

In addition to the practice of various sports, excursions and other physical activities, we also give the camps particular importance since they are “a school of life”.
